Do you want to profile yourself for your future career? In this course you will be introduced to the basics in product and service innovation within life science. The course will also provide you with an overview of the life science market as well as business development opportunities in the life science industry. After completing this course you will have gained transferrable skills in project management, communication and networking. The format is based on real life case studies. You will work with practical projects and cases, meet with entrepreneurs and take part in interactive seminars where you will learn from and with each other.

General admission requirements
You must provide complete transcripts/academic records of 90 ECTS credits or equivalent in the relevant field of study.
Proficiency in the English language has to be documented by an internationally recognized test such as TOEFL: internet based test with a total score of at least 90 and minimum score 20 in written test, paper based test with a total score of at least 575, and minimum score 4.5 in written test, or IELTS (academic) with an overall mark of at least 6.5 and no band less than 5.5.
Pre-requisites (if applicable)
90 credits, mainly within health care, biomedicine, biology, cellular and molecular biology, pharmaceutics, chemistry, medicine or biotechnology.
Selection
The selection is based on an overall assessment of your previous qualifications such as previous education, relevant work experience and statement of intent.
Learning outcomes
The overall aim of the course is to give the participants an insight into field of bioentrepreneurship, i.e. business within the life sciences.
After finalizing the course, the student will be able to:
Regarding knowledge and understanding
- Describe the processes of product and service development in the life science sector as well as their similarities and differences
- Demonstrate a general understanding of the central role that business development plays for the biomedical industry
Regarding skills and ability
- Assess and compare different forms of IP and perform basic IP analysis
- Apply idea creation tools
- Write, and critically review a business plan
- Perform a basic market analysis in the life science sector
Regarding judgment and approach
- Analyze and critically asses a case study
Course content

Examination
The examination is based on a written report and oral presentations. Attendance at seminars, workshops and presentations is mandatory.
Requirements for final grade
To get a final grade on the course, you need to get the grade pass on the written report as well as presentation of the written assignment.
